Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative force in the educational ecosystem, reshaping how learners engage with content, how educators assess performance, and how institutions deliver personalized learning experiences. This paper presents the evolving role of AI in education, emphasizing adaptive learning systems, intelligent tutoring models, predictive analytics, and AI-enhanced assessment tools. Through a critical review of current literature and theoretical models, this study examines the pedagogical, ethical, and sociotechnical dimensions of AI adoption in educational settings. The analysis highlights both the benefits—such as personalization, efficiency, and accessibility and the challenges, including bias, data privacy, algorithmic transparency, and equity. The paper concludes by proposing future research directions that integrate human–AI collaboration frameworks and ethical AI governance in education.
